In 2018, The World University Rankings ranked the National University of Singapore first in both Asia Pacific and Singapore and 24th in the world. The university conducts its courses using a modular system that runs through semesters in a hybrid emulation of the British and American systems of tutorials and credits respectively. To facilitate student learning, the university has supercomputing and IT services based on campus-wide UD Grid MP deployed in 2004 to connect 1,000 computers. In total, the university has eight (8) libraries that are open to administrative staff members, external members, teaching faculty, and students. These libraries include the Hon Sui Sen Memorial Library, East Asian Institute Library, CJ Koh Law Library, the Central Library, Science Library, Music Library, Medical Library, and Chinese Library. It also boasts of about 6,000 residential places that include student residences on campus and seven (7) halls of residence with Prince George’s Park House (PGPH) being the latest of this having been completed in 2017.
You should also consider the environmental elements that can affect your floor design, such as whether you want to face the rooms of the open sun or in front of the shade tree. It is important to remember that the sun warms the room on cold days and that the large shading over the windows will save the shade of the sun when it is at the highest point of the day. Trends, such as the south and north side, where the sun is better for a particular room, such as the living room, are important considerations. It is also important to consider other factors such as sound. For example, bedrooms must be located in places where traffic and noise are low.
